MEET GENXDAD & GENXMOM

Meet GenXDad & GenXMom

Born 1967 and 1968, same classroom in 1978, and a kid with a phone.

GenXDad
GenXDad“The General” · Born 1967

Here is my Dad. The seemingly reluctant participant in all my videos.

GenXMom
GenXMom“The Queen” · Born 1968

My Mom helps me behind the scenes and keeps my Dad in line.

Briggs
Briggs“Gen Z Kid” · Born 2005

And me! I started this at sixteen trying to get famous on TikTok.

Briggs started GenXTalks at sixteen, pointing a phone at his father. Two Generation X parents, one Gen Z kid, and a question none of them has finished answering.

The maths of this family

GenXDad — 1967.
GenXMom — 1968.
Briggs, the Gen Z kid — 2005.

His grandparents are Boomers. His parents are Generation X. A lot of his seven brothers and sisters are Millennials. That leaves him, in his own words, trying to sort out how he got here and where his place in the world is.

About my dad

He is old and doesn’t know much about my generation. He is stuck in the past. He rambles. His old person’s thinking is obsolete. By his own admission, he uses 3-dollar words and says we live in a 12-dollar world. But he’s the only dad I have, so he is who I ambush with my phone.

About Gen X Mom

Well, what “isn’t she” might be a shorter list. My mom is my biggest cheerleader. She runs all the merchandise for Gen X Talks. She helps me in finding new posts for Facebook and Instagram. She helps sort emails for me and is learning to make some of the merchandise we sell. And, she keeps my dad in line, which is the biggest help of all.

Maybe this will explain me

My Gen X parents were both born in the late 60’s in the San Fernando Valley. They grew up going to the same private school K through 12th — although my Dad got kicked out twice. I was conceived in a van behind a gas station in Gorman, CA (true) and I have spent the last 20 years trying to figure out my Gen X parents and my Millennial siblings. Seven brothers and sisters who have picked on me and protected me along the way. So here I am embracing technology and learning about my own family history. And because you are reading this, you’re along for the ride too…at least for a little while.
